Role: Commercial Finance Business Partner

Location: Birmingham (SCC operate hybrid working, which comprises of a mix of office and home working)

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary Package: £55,000 to £65,000, Company Car/Car Allowance, Bonus, plus large company benefits, a broad flexible benefits scheme, and 2 paid-for volunteering days a year

Hours: 9.00 am – 5.30 pm Monday – Friday. We also offer the opportunity to benefit from a Core Hours arrangement (role-specific), providing flexibility around your personal needs

Role purpose:
 
As a Finance Business Partner, your primary responsibility will be to drive the financial success of the organisation by delivering strategic recommendations that foster growth in sales, profitability, and cash flow. You will play a crucial role within the Commercial Finance Business Partner team, contributing significantly to the organization's future growth trajectory.
 
Working closely with the Management Accounting and FP&A teams, you will leverage your financial expertise to translate complex data into insightful recommendations. 
 
Key responsibilities:
 
  • Strategic Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with Management Accounting and FP&A teams to translate financial information into insightful recommendations.
  • Critical Team Contribution: Play a pivotal role in the organisation's future growth as a key member of the Commercial Finance Business Partner team.
  • Business Case Preparation: Develop and present comprehensive business cases to guide decision-making on operational changes.
  • Financial Modelling: Create and maintain financial models to assess the impact of proposed operational changes on financial performance.
  • Value-Driven Collaboration: Work closely with non-finance functions to identify and implement strategies driving incremental value.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyse financial data to assess the performance of different business functions and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Financial Guidance: Deliver recommendations supporting growth in sales, profitability, and cash flow.
  •  Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate financial insights and recommendations to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for the relevant function through cross team collaboration and by providing valuable financial insights.
 
Skills and experience:
 
  •  Proficient in developing and maintaining financial models to assess the impact of operational changes on organisational financial performance.
  • strategic thinking skills with the ability to contribute significantly to business growth and operational changes through insightful business case preparation.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex financial insights to both financial and non-financial stakeholders, fostering a clear understanding and support for recommendations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to provide accurate and strategic financial guidance.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, particularly with Management Accounting and FP&A, to translate financial data into actionable insights.
