Role: D365 Functional Consultant (Project Operations) 

Location: Birmingham (SCC operate hybrid working, which comprises of a mix of office and home working)

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary Package: £60,000 - £70,00plus large company benefits, company car, a broad flexible benefits scheme, and 2 paid-for volunteering days a year

Hours: 9.00 am – 5.30 pm Monday – Friday

Role purpose:
As a D365 Functional Consultant (Project Ops), the post holder will play a pivotal role in spearheading the successful implementation of new requirements and optimisation of Dynamics 365 for Project Operations. The primary responsibility will be to design and deliver end-to-end solutions aligned with client requirements, ensuring the seamless integration of D365 Project Operations into organisational workflows. Drawing upon your technical proficiency, you will lead the configuration and customisation efforts, collaborating closely with stakeholders to analyse and document business requirements. Your oversight will encompass the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning through to deployment, user training, and ongoing support. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will stay abreast of the latest Dynamics 365 developments, supporting onboarding enhancements and ensuring the system's alignment with industry best practices.
 
Security clearance or the willingness to apply will be required for this role. 
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Develop and design end-to-end solutions within Dynamics 365 for Project Operations, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry best practices.
  • Enable SCC business to get the most out of D365 Project Operations, involvement in all aspects of the project lifecycle, from planning and configuration to testing and deployment.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business requirements, translating them into functional specifications for D365 configurations.

  • Customise and configure Dynamics 365 Project Operations to meet unique business needs, ensuring optimal system performance and user experience.
  • Manage integration points between D365 Project Operations and other enterprise systems, ensuring seamless data flow and consistency across the organisation.
  • Provide training sessions to end-users and support teams, ensuring a smooth transition to the new system and addressing any post-implementation issues promptly.
  • Conduct thorough testing of D365 configurations to identify and resolve any issues, ensuring the integrity and reliability of the system.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, customisations, and processes within D365 Project Operations, facilitating knowledge transfer and future system enhancements.
  • Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, communicating project updates, milestones, and potential challenges in a clear and concise manner.
  • Stay abreast of the latest updates and features within the Dynamics 365 ecosystem, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of D365 Project Operations.
Skills and experience:
  • Proven experience as a D365 Functional Consultant, specifically in implementing Dynamics 365 for Project Operations and supporting value add additions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related discipline is advantageous but not required.
  • In-depth knowledge of Dynamics 365 Project Operations, including customisation, configuration, and integration capabilities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing end-to-end solutions within the D365 environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience conducting user training sessions and providing user support.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for D365 configurations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the capability to identify and resolve issues during system implementation and operation.
  • Track record of successfully leading and managing the full lifecycle of D365 Project Operations implementations, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.  Experience with quality assurance processes, including thorough testing and documentation of system configurations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to staying updated on the latest developments within the Dynamics 365 ecosystem.  Proactive in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and implementing enhancements to optimise D365 Project Operations.
