Location: Birmingham (SCC operate hybrid working, which comprises of a mix of office and home working)

Hours: 9.00 am – 5.30 pm Monday – Friday

Role purpose:
This position involves the administration of credit applications, assessing the creditworthiness of customers, and ensuring compliance with established credit policies and procedures. The Credit Services Administrator collaborates with various internal departments, such as finance, sales, and customer service, to facilitate smooth credit transactions. Additionally, this role involves monitoring and analysing credit trends, resolving credit issues, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date credit records.
Key responsibilities:
- Credit Application Processing: Efficiently process and review credit applications from customers.
- Creditworthiness Assessment: Assess and evaluate the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses.
- Policy Compliance: Ensure adherence to established credit policies and procedures.
- Collaborative Communication: Collaborate with internal departments, including finance, sales, and customer service, to facilitate seamless credit transactions.
- Transaction Monitoring: Monitor credit transactions and identify potential issues or discrepancies.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date credit records for all customers.
- Risk Mitigation: Implement strategies to mitigate credit risks and enhance the overall risk management process.
- Issue Resolution: Resolve credit-related issues promptly and efficiently.
- Credit Trend Analysis: Analyse and report on credit trends to support informed decision-making.
- System Optimisation: Continuously optimise the credit management system to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in credit administration.
Skills and experience:
- Demonstrable experience in credit administration, with a focus on processing credit applications and assessing creditworthiness.
- Strong analytical abilities to assess and interpret financial data, trends, and credit reports effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, external clients, and resolve credit-related issues.
- Meticulous attention to detail to maintain accurate credit records and identify discrepancies in credit transactions.
- Ability to adapt to evolving credit policies, industry regulations, and technology changes, ensuring the optimisation of the credit management system.
