Why SCC?

  • An inclusive workplace
  • Excellent package: solid basic and company benefits
  • Hybrid working & core hours in line with role requirements
  • Career development and life-long learning opportunities
  • Opportunity to join Europe's largest privately-owned IT Company
Role purpose: The AI Sales Specialist drives growth in AI infrastructure and private AI solutions—covering servers, GPU compute, high‑speed networking, storage, and the associated software stack (virtualisation, orchestration, AI platforms, MLOps, data pipelines, and security). You’ll engage customers who want AI outcomes with control, performance, and data sovereignty—often delivered on‑premises or in a dedicated/private cloud environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting Sales Account Managers across SCC’s sales organisation.
  • Own a revenue and gross-margin target and pipeline identification for AI infrastructure solutions, from first discovery through close and expansion.
  • Lead consultative conversations to uncover business goals, technical constraints, and deployment requirements (performance, latency, data governance, sovereignty, security, cost, timelines).
  • Position end to end architectures: GPU servers, accelerated compute, storage, high speed fabrics (e.g., Ethernet/InfiniBand), and the software layer (container platforms, orchestration, AI frameworks, MLOps, monitoring, security).
  • Build strong stakeholder alignment across IT, data science/ML, security, procurement, and business owners; translate between technical and commercial priorities.
  • Develop account plans and opportunity strategies, including use case mapping, value hypotheses, ROI/TCO narratives, and deal orchestration.
  • Partner with solutions architects, product teams, services, and partners to design proposals, respond to RFPs, and deliver compelling technical and business presentations.
  • Manage a structured sales process: qualification, forecasting, and clear next steps.
  • Drive private AI adoption patterns (e.g., RAG, fine tuning, inference at scale) and help customers choose the right path for build vs. buy.
  • Support proof of concepts and pilots by defining success criteria, ensuring feasibility, and progressing to production deployments.
  • Maintain awareness of the AI infrastructure landscape (GPU roadmaps, networking trends, software ecosystems) and share insights with customers and internal teams.

Skills and experience:

Required
  •  Proven experience in a customer facing role (sales, pre sales, solutions engineering, customer success, partner/channel, or technical consulting).
  •  Comfort discussing infrastructure concepts with technical audiences (compute, storage, net-working, virtualisation/containers, security basics).
  • Demonstrated ability to learn fast and communicate complex ideas clearly—both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong discovery, qualification, and stakeholder management skills; able to navigate mul-ti threaded enterprise deals.
  • Commercial acumen: building business cases, articulating value, and negotiating to close.
  • Passion for AI and accelerated computing (self learning, projects, community involvement, gam-ing/homelab experience, etc.).
Preferred

  •  Experience selling or supporting datacentre infrastructure, HPC and AI platforms.
  • Familiarity with GPU compute concepts (CUDA ecosystem awareness, GPU memory constraints, inference vs. training, batching/throughput/latency trade offs).
  • Understanding of modern AI solution patterns (RAG, vector databases, fine tuning/LoRA, model serving, evaluation, guardrails).
  • Hands on experience with containers and orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift) and/or infrastructure automation (Terraform/Ansible) preferred.
  • Knowledge of high performance networking and storage (RDMA, high speed Ethernet/InfiniBand, NVMe, parallel file systems).
  • Exposure to private cloud and hybrid architectures.
  • Vendor/partner ecosystem experience (OEMs, GPU vendors, ISVs, hyperscalers, systems integra-tors)
