Role: Multi Skilled Maintenance Supervisor and Electrician

Role purpose:
Responsible for ensuring all SCC facilities are well-maintained, safe, and fully operational. This includes managing a variety of maintenance tasks including escalation cases, such as building repairs, housekeeping, office moves, and specific trades such as carpentry, metalwork, and plumbing. The role involves hands-on participation in tasks, and ensuring all work is completed efficiently, to a high standard, and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Full UK Driving License Required (Company Van)

Key responsibilities:
1. Building and Infrastructure Maintenance:
- Carry out minor building repairs, including work on roofing, partitions, and other structural elements.
- Oversee and participate in the repair and maintenance of fixtures, fittings, and furniture.
- Manage gardening tasks, ensuring the upkeep of outdoor spaces.
2. General Maintenance Tasks:
- Perform housekeeping tasks to ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the facilities.
- Carry out porter duties, including the movement of equipment and furniture.
- Supervise and assist with office moves, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Install and adapt office partitions, as well as erect and dismantle racking and shelving systems.
3. Electrical Maintenance:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
- Conduct inspections to identify electrical issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems and implement effective solutions.
4. Specialised Repairs and Installations:
- Perform and oversee fencing and gate repairs and installations.
- Conduct commercial kitchen repairs, including hygiene improvements.
- Carry out carpentry and metalwork tasks to improve building security and functionality.
5. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct risk assessments for all tasks to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate safety measures.
6. Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement improvements in maintenance processes and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices to enhance maintenance operations.
- Provide feedback to management on potential improvements to facilities and infrastructure.
7. Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to maintenance staff.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance.
- Coordinate with other departments to minimise disruptions.
8. Resource Management
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Order necessary parts and materials.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.
9. Problem-Solving:
- Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues.
- Implement preventive maintenance strategies.
- Develop solutions to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
10. Inspections:
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities.
- Identify potential issues and plan corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Skills and experience:
- Skilled Knowledge in Trades: Proven experience as an Electrician. Proficiency in various trades such as carpentry, metalwork, plumbing, and building.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and circuitry.
- Relevant vocational qualification, e.g. 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulation plus any other formal electrical qualifications such as Level 3 qualification.
- Demonstrates reliability, responsibility, and a professional attitude.
- The role will involve working in various conditions, including outdoors and in different areas of the facility.
- Physical tasks and manual handling will be required.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Full Driving License: A full driving license is required to facilitate travel between sites.
