Role: PMO Analyst
Location: Birmingham (SCC operate hybrid working, which comprises of a mix of office and home working)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary Package: £30,000 - £31,500 dependent on experience, plus large company benefits, a broad flexible benefits scheme, and 2 paid-for volunteering days a year
Hours: 9.00 am – 5.30 pm, Monday – Friday

Role purpose:
The main purpose of this role is to assist the Lead PMO with the assurance / delivery of programmes and projects under all SCC business units (Tech Services, Cyber, Hyper, DAP). The role is also required to work as a billable delivery resource for engagement, enhanced engagement and light, medium and full projects. Other areas of responsibility include assisting with PMO governance, standards and processes. To assist the Lead PMO to ensure all SCC PMO systems are maintained with the latest data to ensure that the flow of management information to inform Portfolio decisions and strategy are kept updated and accurate at all time.
Security clearance or the willingness to apply will be required for this role.
Key responsibilities:
- Support development and production of Weekly Customer Reporting on assigned Projects and Programmes
- Support the successful implementation of the PMO’s strategy, responsibilities, services and deliverables
- Provide guidance for the UK Services Project Community on all aspects of project change and governance.
- Support for Financial Governance Processes for project start-up and change
- Analyse portfolio reporting and data and publish regular operational status reports showing portfolio health
- Undertake quality and assurance reviews of assigned Projects
- General support of the Lead PMO
- Provide set up and governance for engagement, enhanced engagement projects and assigned Light, Medium and Full Projects
- Support New Start Inductions within the project department
- Provide assistance to ensure project costs and finances remain consistent and are accurately tracked across assigned projects and programmes
- Provide assistance to help define and embed project control and governance
- Ensure efficient change control methods and process are utilised
- Provide input into SCC project management systems to allow better automation, control and user experience
Skills and experience:
- Exposure to PRINCE2 or PMI and willing to work towards gaining further accreditation
- Proven experience providing support to PMO functions
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken English
- Microsoft Office skills; able to manipulate data in Excel spreadsheets
- Relationship building skills
- Diligent, with attention to detail
- Effective communicator at all levels
- Team player, able to work on own initiative and without supervision
- Ability to cope successfully under pressure and with shifting priorities
- Desirable: PRINCE2 foundation certification or equivalent
