Role: Reprographics Team Leader

Location: Stevenage (SCC operate hybrid working, which comprises of a mix of office and home working)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 9.00 am – 5.30 pm Monday – Friday

Role purpose:

Lead a team of reprographics and scanning operators to maintain and improve an effective print production service to the client. Maintain and develop customer relationships through excellent communication.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage overall Reprographics activities which include: Using various software packages to produce printed materials, colour copying/printing, high quality perfect binding, delivering bulk scanning service, folding, creasing, perforating, guillotining, large format trimming and laminating, and performing operator maintenance on print and finishing equipment.
  • Act as a point of escalation for the Reprographics team.
  • Attend relevant project meetings in order to facilitate a hand over to support for new services and technologies, ensuring the Reprographics team have the appropriate skills and capacity to deliver those services.
  • Highlight risks to the Reprographics team and review at regular intervals, escalating to SCC Management any issues that may cause an impact to contractual requirements such as SLA’s and quality standards.
  • Asses changing needs of the client's print service to ensure Reprographics team has room for growth as new activities are taken on board.
  • To work with Service Delivery Manager and other relevant managers to ensure all departments are kept up to date with latest process documentation.
  • Assist the customer management team in identifying any failed calls that we may be able to mitigate and bring back into SLA due to terms of the contract.
  • Continually review the skillset of the Reprographics team ensuring that they are capable of delivering the services to the required standards. This includes setting relevant objectives in staff PDR’s.
  • Continually review, develop and innovate the Reprographics function in line with the SIP, general changes to the contract and external trends.
  •  Attend the Change Advisory Board (CAB), Service Improvement (CSIP) and any other meeting as requested by SLT.
  • Comply with company H&S, Environmental, Quality & HR procedures.
Skills and experience:
  • Experience in printing and finishing
  • A good knowledge of digital print on Ricoh, Xerox, Canon, Konica or equivalent.
  • Experience of working within an IT Support Environment, preferably in a senior role with supervisor responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage and motivate staff to deliver results, which includes working towards personal development and team objectives.
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritise workload.
  • Attention to detail and a good work ethic.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to deal with challenging personalities.
  • A customer-orientated approach with excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Focused on delivering agreed objectives and results.
  • Ability to drive results within tight timeframes. Must be able to deliver results and negotiate changes.
  • Ability to effectively influence and negotiate with personnel at various organisational levels.
  • Ability to handle difficult and demanding customer environments.
  • Ability to work un-managed towards individual and team objectives associated with the role.
  • Ability to identify service improvement and innovation opportunities.
